Tinton Falls, NJ - The number two team in the Nation came to town and confirmed their rank. Brookdale was outmatched for their season home opener, losing 6-1 to the Cougars. Brookdale put up a valiant effort at Capelli Sports Complex.

"These are the teams we want to play in our journey of improvement. Both Coach Jose and I could not be prouder of the effort put forth today against such a gifted team," stated Coach Rafferty. The Blues man of the match, sophomore goalkeeper Bryan Viegas, tallied 21 saves for his side, including three spectacular efforts up to his right upper 90.

In the second half, Brookdale was awarded a direct kick 25 yards from goal. Sophomore Midfielder, Marlon Morales, placed the ball,  took a brief look, then deftly dipped the ball over the wall and down to the lower left corner of the goal for his first goal of the season.
