Men's Basketball Finishes 3rd At Nationals After Defeating Riverland CC
Herkimer, NY - Following a draining loss to #1 seed Dallas College-North Lake in the semifinals of the NJCAA DIII Championships, the Jersey Blues men's basketball team picked up and rallied to defeat the Riverland Community College Blue Devils 86-67 to finish 3rd in the nation.
Herkimer, NY - Following a draining loss to #1 seed Dallas College-North Lake in the semifinals of the NJCAA DIII Championships, the Jersey Blues men's basketball team picked up and rallied to defeat the #10 seeded, Riverland Community College Blue Devils, 86-67 to finish 3rd in the nation.
Leading the Blues was sophomore forward, Manny Bell, with 20 points and four assists. Freshman guard off the bench, Jack Zink, scored his season-high of 17 points, and freshman forward, Phillip Byrd, hit for a helpful double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds. Freshman forward, Savon Myers, remained consistent with his contributions by scoring 14 points while adding four assists, and sophomore center big man, Darnell Askew, built on 10 points with three blocks.
Brookdale completed a tremendous season finishing 3rd overall in the nation with a record of 29-2.
