Lincroft, NJ - The Brookdale men's basketball team held on for dear life to protect their undefeated season in a marathon barn burner that went into double overtime, finishing with a final score of 95-92.
Lincroft, NJ - The Brookdale men's basketball team held on for dear life to protect their undefeated season in a marathon barn burner that went into double overtime, finishing with a final score of 95-92.
The Jersey Blues were down 34-38 at the half and matched shot for shot throughout the remainder of the game. Incredible game-saving shots were supplied by both teams, but the foul shot opportunities was where the was game won.
The overall top scorer of the game was hot-hand sophomore point guard, Kareem Irby, with 26 points. Battler under the boards with 20 rebounds (10 offensive) to go along with his 18 points and two blocks was sophomore forward/center, Darnell Askew. The sprayer of stats, freshman forward, Savon Myers, finished with 17 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists while sophomore forward, Manny Bell, didn't dissapoint with his consistent double-figure scoring by adding 12 points.
Brookdale (19-0) will host the Sussex County Community College Skylanders on Thursday, February 1st, at 7:00pm.
