Brookdale Men Conquer The Mercer Vikings On Sophomore Night, Six Score In Double Figures
Lincroft, NJ - The Jersey Blues men's basketball team conquered the DII Mercer County Community College Vikings, 110-71, ending their regular season with a record 24-3 overall, 19-3 in the region. Six Jersey Blues scored in double figures, and two sophomores had double-doubles on Sophomore Night.
Lincroft, NJ - The Jersey Blues men's basketball team conquered the DII Mercer County Community College Vikings, 110-71, ending their regular season with a record of 24-3 overall, 19-3 in the region. Six Jersey Blues scored in double figures, and two sophomores had double-doubles on Sophomore Night.
The Mercer Vikings seemed to drop every basket from tip-off to mid first half until Brookdale turned up the heat, building on their lead to as much as 38 points. Every Jersey Blue scored as they cruised to the finish line with freshman guard, Nick Williams, leading the way with 22 points and hitting 4-4 from the foul line.
Sophomore forward, Niles Halliburton, snatched a double-double with his 21 points and hearty 18 rebounds, as sophomore forward, Devin Strickland, contributed 14 points. The second double-doubler was sophomore point guard, Kevin Mateo, adding 11 points and 10 assists; his 101st assist on the year so far. Sophomore forward, Josiah Basket, scored 11 points, and freshman forward, Darnell Askew, added 10 points.
Brookdale awaits their position for post-season play.
