Love Was In The Air As Brookdale Men Downed Passaic CC And Clinch Conference Title
Lincroft, NJ - There was plenty of love in the air on Valentine's Day as the Brookdale men's basketball team beat the Passaic County College Panthers, 88-70, and clinched the Garden State Athletic Conference title. Brookdale has earned the GSAC Champ title for the 12th time under Head Coach, Paul Cisek.

The Jersey Blues were down most of the first half by as much as 11 points before pulling it together for a late second half spurt in the last eight minutes of the game. Freshman forward, Darnell Askew, deposited 25 points with a monstrous 17 rebounds for his 12th double-double of the season, then secured 9-9 from the foul line. Askew is currently ranked #1 in the NJCAA Division III field goal percentage list with 69.3%. Sophomore point guard, Kevin Mateo, added a flurry of stats as he crushed 25 points with seven assists and five steals.
The Jersey Blues (23-3) host their final game of the regular season in the Robert J. Collins Arena on Thursday, February 16th, at 7:00pm against the Mercer County Community College Vikings.
