Brookdale Takes Hard-Fought Win Over Union
Cranford, NJ - The Brookdale men's basketball team advanced to 9-0 after their 95-88 win over the Union College Owls, but the score was not reflective of the battle they encountered.
Cranford, NJ - The Brookdale men's basketball team advanced to 9-0 after their 95-88 win over the Union College Owls, but the score was not reflective of the battle they enountered.
The Blues were down by 10 points but fought hard to tie it up, 49-49, at the half. Brookdale finally took the reigns in the second half at the seven minute mark when sophomore forward, Niles Halliburton, fired up Brookdale with his pivotal three-point shot to push them ahead. Freshman forward, Darnell Askew, was the leading scorer with 21 points and nine rebounds, as freshman guard, Nick Williams, hit for a big 18 points. Sophomore point guard, Andre Wells, dominated the stats with his double-double of 16 points and 11 assists, while draining 4-4 timely foul shots. Also adding 16 points to the board was freshman guard/forward, Manny Bell, and sophomore forward, Devin Strickland, was a fireball off the bench with 10 points and seven rebounds.
The undefeated Jersey Blues will take a short ride to Toms River, NJ, to play the Ocean County College Vikings on Thursday, December 8th, at 5:00pm.
