Brookdale Blues Claim Victory Over Ocean Vikings

Lincroft, NJ - After their first loss of the season against Atlantic Cape CC, the Brookdale men's basketball team bounced back, had four players score in double-digits, and claimed victory over the Ocean County College Vikings, 88-68.

The Blues had a comfortable 15 point lead at the half, but the Vikings rocked the boat, and pulled the game within six points to make it interesting. Freshman guard, Kevin Mateo, stepped up to drop a couple of three's as he finished with 18 points and five steals. Freshman guard, Coby Sylvester, also helped Brookdale on their path for a double digit-lead with his timely 2-point basket, adding to his 12 points on the night. Sophomore guard, Fres Cabrera, fired in 18 points, and freshman forward, Niles Halliburton, closed out with 12 points and nine rebounds.

The Brookdale men, currently 15-1, will travel to Middlesex College to play the Blue Colts on Monday, January 31st, at 6:00pm.
