Brookdale Men Take Their First Loss Of the Season

Mays Landing, NJ - The Brookdale Jersey Blues men's basketball team took their first loss of the season to the NJCAA #13 ranked, Atlantic Cape Community College Buccaneers, 102-96.

The Blues were predominately up the entire game until the last three minutes, and just couldn't close it out. The Buccaneers had two extremely impactful players who were tough to defend, combining for 74 points.

As for Brookdale, they had three players in double figures. Freshman guard, Kevin Mateo, and sophomore guard, Fres Cabrera, each had 22 points. Cabrera added 11 rebounds, and seven assists for his double-double. Freshman guard, Coby Sylvester, helped with 15 points, and sophomore forward, Allen Ozojie, pulled down a hearty season-high 14 rebounds.

The Brookdale men (14-1) will host the Ocean County College Vikings on Thursday, January 27th, at 5pm.
