Brookdale Men's Basketball Is Victorious Over The Ocean Vikings

Toms River, NJ - On a short ride to neighboring Ocean County College, the Brookdale men's basketball team earned another victory in a conference game over the Vikings, 88-77.

Brookdale kept the game interesting with a nice first lead, to a 14 point gain (40-26) over the Vikings at half-time. The Blues ballooned the lead to 22 points until they allowed the Vikings to lurk and cut the score to 77-73 with about two minutes left in the game. 

Fortunately, the Blues were able to pull out the win with clutch foul shooting and late baskets. Freshman guard, Kevin Mateo, scored a meaty 20 points, as freshman forward, Niles Halliburton, amplified the game with his double-double, scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Also with a double-double, was freshman center, Tim Gjonballa, added his season highs of 18 points and 12 rebounds. Freshman guard, Andre Wells, spread out the points with his 11.

Brookdale remains undefeated with an 8-0 record, and will be heading to Delaware County Community College to challenge the Phantoms @ Cheyney University, PA, on Saturday, December 11th, at 2:00pm.
