The Jersey Blues and the Blue Colts were the only undefeated teams in the conference going in to last night's game. In front of a plentiful, home crowd, the Blues struggled throughout the game, but especially in the first half. The Blue Colts were a quick, aggressive group, jumping ahead 10 points at one point, as Brookdale went to the locker room, down, 42-37, at the half.
In the second half, Brookdale sprung into action, took control with their matched quickness, and increased their shot percentage to outscore Middlesex, 53-40, for the win. Sophomore guard, Fres Cabrera, hit for a double-double and was the leading scorer, fifth time this season, with his 27 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman guard, Kevin Mateo, scored 18 points and snatched four steals, as classmate forwards, Niles Halliburton scored 18 points with three three-pointers, and Devin Strickland went 6-8 to add 12 points.
