The Blue Colts Are Reined Back By The Brookdale Blues

Lincroft, NJ - The Jersey Blues put another win in their back pockets, defeating the Blue Colts of Middlesex County College in conference play Wednesday night with a final score of 73-69. Brookdale put up their seventh consecutive win and are climbing the Region XIX standings with a 9-5 record.

The slow but tight first half finished with a Brookdale three point lead and continued into the second as they built a 15 point lead at one point The Blue Colts rebounded and came within one point at the last minute of the game. Freshman guard Jelani Carter hit a big three-pointer, scoring 21 on the night, and sophomore forward Tyler Hawkins drew a foul in the final seconds, then hit both free throws for the win. Hawkins dropped 17 points and Freshman forward Beyon Wilson plunged 11 points and added 10 rebounds. 

The Blues travel to Mays Landing to battle the Buccaneers of Atlantic Cape Community College on Tuesday, January 21st @ 7:00pm.
