Blues Pounce The Passaic Panthers

Lincroft, NJ - With a heartbreaking one point overtime loss to the Passaic Panthers back in November, the Blues were ready and ferocious this time around. Brookdale earned their sixth consecutive win by beating Passaic County College 75-59.

Passaic had a quick 11-2 lead to begin the first half while the Blues struggled to hit a field goal for the first six minutes of the game. Brookdale then got into their groove, finishing the first half with a 34-30 lead over the Panthers, and never trailed again. Sophomore forward Tyler Hawkins led all scores with 29 points, six assists, and five steals. Freshman guards, Jelani Carter and Deondre Smith, supplied 14 and 13 points for the books, and freshman guard Allen Ozojie was big under the boards with 11 rebounds.

Brookdale, now 8-5, will host the Middlesex County College Blue Colts on Wednesday, January 14th @ 7:00pm.
