Brookdale Beats Salem In Five Innings To Advance To Region Championships
Camden, NJ - Brookdale baseball advanced to the North Atlantic District Championship game after defeating the Salem Community College Mighty Oaks in five innings by the ten run-rule, 12-2, in the Region 19 Tournament Final Four.

Sophomore left fielder, Gary John Perone, was perfect on the day batting 4-for-4 with a home run and a triple for four RBI's, and sophomore catcher, Shane Andrus, put up two RBI's in his 2-for-4 at bats. Colossal hits and RBI's also came from sophomore second baseman, Anthony Martino, with a triple from his flawless 3-for-3 trips to the plate while freshman shortstop, Justin Lopez, smacked a double in his 2-for-3 turns. sophomore DH, Jacob Ramirez, and third baseman, Junior Nunez, supported the Jersey Blues with an RBI a piece in the win. The winning pitcher on the mound was sophomore, Tyler Spencer, who completed all five innings with eight strikeouts.
The #2 seeded Brookdale will face the #1 RCSJ-Gloucester Roadrunners in game-one of the North Atlantic District Championships at Rutgers University-Camden starting at 2:00pm.
