Jersey Blues Take Games Two & Three To Sweep Salem In Series
Lincroft, NJ - The Jersey Blues swept the Salem Community College Mighty Oaks in their three-game series. They defeated the Mighty Oaks, 22-6, on Friday, and finished the series with scores of 11-6 and 20-7 on Saturday.

Lincroft, NJ - The Jersey Blues swept the Salem Community College Mighty Oaks in their three-game series. They defeated the Mighty Oaks, 22-6, on Friday, and finished the series with scores of 11-6 and 20-7 on Saturday.
In the first game, sophomore Christian Simonsen (1-0) won on the mound in five innings with three strikeouts, while freshman, Matt Desiderio, grabbed the save in one inning for the Blues. Sophomore catcher, Shane Andrus, had a big bat and brought home four RBI's off of his homer and double. Freshman center fielder, Anthony Pizzuti, belted a double in his 2-for-4 at bats for two RBI's, and sophomore first baseman, Richard Kernan, pulled in two RBI's as well.
In the 20-7 game-two win, freshman Chase Newton (1-0) was the winner on the hump in 2.2 innings who struck out two. Pizzuti's bat remained hot as he pounded two homers (fifth on the season), for three RBI's, as freshman shortstop, Justin Lopez, freshman second baseman, Christopher Clark, and freshman right fielder, Paul Santos, all provided two RBI's. Shane Andrus hit his second homer of the day, his third on the season, to push the Blues to victory.
Brookdale (6-0) will remain home to host the Bucks County Community College Centurions on Tuesday, March 4th, beginning at 3:00pm.
