Brookdale Sophomore Brzezniak Named DIII Baseball Player Of The Year
Charlotte, NC - Brookdale (NJ) Community College sophomore Rocko Brzezniak has been named the 2024 NJCAA Division III Baseball Player of the Year.
Charlotte, NC - Brookdale (NJ) Community College sophomore Rocko Brzezniak has been named the 2024 NJCAA Division III Baseball Player of the Year.
"Rocko is one of the hardest working and most dedicated players that I have ever coached in my 25 years at Brookdale College. His work ethic and desire to be great is what sets him apart from other players. He is a great leader and a great teammate. All his success is from hard work and dedication," Brookdale head baseball coach Johnny Johnson said.
The sophomore was named a NJCAA First-Team All-American for the second straight season, and his 2024 season was one for the record books. This year, Brzezniak finished the season leading the nation in both batting average (.568), hits (113), and on-base percentage (.636). The sophomore played first and third base for the Jersey Blues this season and earned a .955 fielding percentage. Rocko was also a proficient base stealer, swiping 39 bases on the season.
Brzezniak finished with 23 doubles, six triples, 12 home runs, and the third-most RBI in the nation with 82.
"His loyalty to me and this program will never be forgotten. Rocko plays and respects this great game the way it is supposed to be played. I love this kid for who he is and his loyalty to me. His future is unlimited," coach Johnson said.
