Brookdale Brooms Away The Lehigh Carbon Cougars

Schnecksville, PA - Brookdale baseball clinched their three-game series with a sweep against the Lehigh Carbon Comunity College Cougars, 8-2, 5-4.

Freshman pitcher, Christian Simonsen, captured his second win of the season in 6.1 innings, with two walks and two strikeouts. Freshman center fielder, Devon Smith, batted 2-for-4 with a double for three RBI's, and sophomore DH, Dan Cowles, pounded two doubles for an RBI. Sophomores, Nick Colbert and Rocko Brzezniak, each added an RBI in the win. 

The Jersey Blues squeezed past the Cougars in the 5-4 second game win with Brzezniak leading the way in hits with 3-for-4 at bats for an RBI. Sophomore shortstop, Hunter Serrano, freshman Devon Smith, and freshman catcher, Shane Andrus, all had hits for an RBI a piece. Freshman Christian Krause (4-1) got the win on the mound in 2.1 innings with six strikeouts. 

The Jersey Blues will return home to play their last game of the regular season against the Suffolk Community College Sharks on Sunday, May 5th, at 12:00pm.
