Brookdale Baseball Ends Game Abruptly In A Tie Against DI Monroe College
Lincroft, NJ - Timing is everything, and the Brookdale Jersey Blues baseball team ran out of it to end their game against the DI Monroe College Mustangs in a 6-6 tie due to darkness.
Lincroft, NJ - Timing is everything, and the Brookdale Jersey Blues baseball team ran out of it to end their game against the DI Monroe College Mustangs in a 6-6 tie due to darkness.
Brookdale was creeping back following a 6-1 deficit until three runs were scored in the 7th inning, then two in the 9th when the game was abruptly called. Freshman catcher, Shane Andrus, batted 3-for-5 with a double for two RBI's, and sophomore shortstop, Hunter Serrano, mustered up another two RBI's from his 2-for-4 at bats. Two more RBI's came from freshman DH, Kensil Flores, and sophomore first baseman, Ryan Cole, who posted a double. Despite, the tie, freshman Christian Simonsen, got the win on the mound in his 5.0 innings.
The Blues take the field again at home on Friday, April 12th, against the Middlesex College Blue Colts beginning at 3:30pm.
