Lincroft, NJ - Brookdale baseball clinched another two-game series after defeating the Bronx Community College Broncos with scores of 13-1 and 23-3.
In game-one, the Jersey Blues had two huge start-off innings, scoring six in the first, and seven in the second inning. Leading on the mound was freshman, Christian Krause, who grabbed his first win as a Jersey Blue. Krause pitched for four innings and struck out 10. Hitting 2-2 with two RBI's was sophomore right fielder, Nick Lovarco, who pasted a triple, and freshman center fielder, Devon Smith, who cranked two doubles. Gathering another two RBI's a piece were sophomore second baseman, Nick Colbert, and sophomore shortstop, Hunter Serrano; both batted 1-1. Adding another two RBI's was sophomore third baseman, Rocko Brzezniak, who finished 2-3 in the win.
The 23-3 win was led by freshman, Zack Szatkowski (2-0), on the mound who for 3.0 innings with a strikeout. On the offensive side, DH Rocko Brzezniak, went 3-3 including a homer and a double for five huge RBI's. Sophomore first baseman, Ryan Cole, made his way around the diamond with a homer to add three RBI's, and freshman second baseman, Anthony Martino, also had a bell ringer from his 2-4 at bats. Freshman Jules Conte hit 1-2 for two RBI's off of his triple as well.
The Blues are 12-0 and will host the Monroe College Mustangs JV squad on Wednesday, March 13th, at 3:00pm.
