Blues Baseball Sends The Luzerne Trailblazers On A New Path In Sweep

Lincroft, NJ - Brookdale baseball pushes their record to 6-0 after their double-header sweep against the Luzerne County Community College Trailblazers, 10-0, 17-3.

In four innings with 10 strikeouts, freshman Tyler Spencer(1-0) led the Jersey Blues in the first game win. Freshman catcher, Lucca Limeira, led the Blues in RBI's with three after hitting 2-3 including a double, and freshman DH, Kensil Flores, did his job knocking in two RBI's off of his double. Freshman center fielder, Devon Smith, went 2-3 with a triple to bring home an RBI while sophomore first baseman, Ryan Cole, blasted two doubles for an RBI. Sophomore right fielder, Nick LoVarco, deposited an RBI after his 2-4 at bats, and added two stolen bases. 

In the second win, freshman Zack Szatkowski (1-0) won his first game on the mound as a Jersey Blue in four innings with five strikeouts. Sophomore center fielder, Anderson Gonzales, totaled 1-2 with a double and three RBI's, freshman first baseman, Giovanni Sive, belted a dinger for three RBI's, and freshman second baseman, Justin Diaz, went 2-2 with a double for two RBI's. 

Brookdale travels to Blackwood, NJ to finish their three-game series against the Camden County College Cougars on Monday, March 4th, at 3:00pm.
