Brookdale Baseball Does A Double Take Against The Dukes

Lincroft, NJ - Following their 8-2 loss just a week ago, the Jersey Blues fired back with a vengeance by taking two big wins from the RCSJ-Cumberland Dukes, 7-2, 10-0, to finish the series.

Sophomore right-handed pitcher, Nick Timpanelli (5-2), threw for seven innings, striking out six with only two earned runs. The Blues were up just 3-2 in the 5th when sophomore DH, John Wade, unleashed a crushing grand slam as the Blues held on to the lead. Freshman second baseman, Nick Colbert, posted an RBI double, as Freshman right fielder, Nick Lovarco, and Anderson Gonzalez, both added RBI singles. 

It was a home run fest in game two for the Blues as sophomore left fielder, Marcus Johnson, got things started in the 1st inning with a two-run blast, finishing with four big RBI's in the win. Shortly after, freshman third baseman, Lucca Limeira, send a flamer over the fence for three RBI's, and then John Wade hit his second home run for his 5th RBI of the day.

Sophomore catcher, Darius Troche, piled on a two-run double, and sophomore shortstop, Joseph Lomangino, generated 4-for-4 hits with a double at the plate. Sophomore stud pitcher, Brendan Williams (7-1), threw the gas in his five-inning, zero earned run, five-strikeout display. 

Brookdale begins their three-game series against the region undefeated, RCSJ-Gloucester Roadrunners, on Friday, April 28th, beginning at 3:30pm.
