Myrtle Beach, SC - The Brookdale Jersey Blues baseball team made their mark at Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, SC, as they finished 9-2 in their five day spring training trip.
The Blues opened up their series on Sunday, March 12th with a 4-0 loss to the NCAA DIII North Central Missouri Pirates, then went on a five-game winning streak beginning with their second round against the Pirates, 4-0. On day two, Brookdale swept the Community College of Rhode Island Knights, 7-0, 16-0, and day three consisted of a win against the Clark State College Eagles, 4-3, and a second win over the Sullivan County Community College Generals, 11-3.
The Blues took their second loss of the series on day four in game one against the Fingerlakes Community College Lakers, 12-1, but turned the frown upside down with a 13-9 victory over the Central Maine Community College Mustangs. Brookdale had their last double header, with double wins, on Thursday, March 16th against the Garrett College Lakers, 5-1, and a 14-4 win over the Montgomery College (MD) Raptors. Just before heading home, the Jersey Blues squeezed in their second win against Clark State College, 10-0.
Brookdale is currently 13-2 and returns to New Jersey to play on their home field against the Atlantic Cape Community College Buccaneers on Monday, March 20th, at 3:30pm.
