Brookdale Sweeps Ocean Vikings To Close Regular Season

Lincroft, NJ - The Brookdale Blues Closed out their regular season by sweeping the Ocean County College Vikings in a three-game GSAC series that began last Thursday. The Jersey Blues finished the double-header with scores of 8-2, 8-6, and an overall record of 32-18.

Freshman winning pitcher in game one, Ryan Lasko (6-1), went the distance, lasting all seven innings with three strikeouts and zero earned runs. Sophomore right fielder, Alex Ungar, who is batting .412, went 3-4, including a double to drive in four RBI's. Freshman left fielder, Larry Citrola, and third baseman, Nicholas Papageorge, both hit 2-4 for one RBI a piece, and freshman center fielder, Christian Bauman, stroked a triple to add an RBI.

In the 8-6 second game win, freshman, Jared Terefenko (3-1), was the winner on the mound while facing 14 batters in three innings with three strikeouts. Christian Bauman struck again with his 13th homer on the season for three RBI's followed by freshman short stop, Joseph Lomangino, adding two RBI's and a stolen base. additionally, freshman catcher, Darius Troche, punched a double for an RBI, and freshman first baseman, John Wade, batted 2-4 with an RBI. 

The #3 Region XIX ranked Jersey Blues will be hosting the first round of the Region Tournament against the #6 Middlesex College Blue Colts in a double-header on Saturday, April 14th, starting at 12:00pm.
