Largo, MD - The Brookdale Community College baseball team opened up their season with a sweep against Prince George's Community College Owls, 4-1, 7-2.
In game one, freshman left-handed pitcher, Brendan Williams (1-0), threw a complete game with 14 strikeouts, and only gave up one hit on an unearned run. Freshman centerfielder, Christian Bauman, went 2-2 with a triple and a double to create two runs, while adding an RBI. Freshman first baseman, John Scrivanic, hit 1-3 with one being a homerun.
Freshman starting pitcher in game two, Ryan Devanney, had six strikeouts after three innings, as freshman, Bryan Bernard, finished the game and earned the win as the relief with five strikeouts. John Scrivanic, went 2-4, hitting his 2nd homerun on opening day, and freshman outfielder, Marcus Johnson, went 1-2, compliling two runs, 1 homerun, an RBI, and a stolen base.
Brookdale (2-0) will travel to Bergen Community College to begin their 3-game series with the Bulldogs on, Friday, March 5th, with a 2:30pm start time.
