The Dukes Reign Over The Jersey Blues

Lincroft, NJ - After a long 13 day game break, Brookdale baseball fell to the Dukes of RCSJ-Cumberland in double-header scores of 12-6 and 12-6. Sophomore right-handed pitchers, Matt Pickus and Riley Maypother combined for 7.1 innings with eight strikeouts.

Sophomore first baseman Ryan Gilmore pounded out two hits, including a double, while adding a run and two RBI's. Centerfielder Christian Bauman produced two hits and a walk as shortstop Anthony Brienza smacked a triple-bagger, added two runs, and brought home an RBI.

Game two rounded out with the same final score (12-6) despite some strong efforts at the plate. Infielder Matt Granato hit 3-4 which included a double, a walk, and his first home run on the year to bring in an RBI. Catcher Trevor Brey posted three strong hits, a walk, a run, and an RBI as well. Centerfielder Christian Bauman punched a triple, adding a run and an RBI in his 2-4 at bats.

The Jersey Blues are looking to harness the Middlesex College Colts in their next match on Saturday, April 24th, starting at high noon.
