Raritan Valley Lions Tamed In Double Loss To The Blues
Lincroft, NJ - The Blues managed to tame the Raritan Valley Lions in a dual win on Saturday, 10-1 and 5-4, improving their overall record to 12-1.

Lincroft, NJ - The Blues managed to tame the Raritan Valley Community College Lions in a dual win on Saturday, 10-1 and 5-4, while improving their overall record to 12-1.
Freshman right-hander, Jack Nitti, whipped six strikeouts in his six innings, allowing just one run in the first game. Infielder Matt Granato went a whopping 4-4, driving in three runs for the Blues. First baseman Ryan Gilmore wasn't shy behind the plate either as he went 3-4 in the box, scoring two runs, and clutching a hearty four RBI's. Freshman Robert Zega cranked a double to bring in two RBI's, and third baseman Darius Troche added an additional two RBI's with his 2-3 at bats.
Game two was a bit tighter with a couple of pitching changes, but LHP James LaBruno (1-0) was deemed the winner with four strikeouts in his two-inning turn. Second baseman Giuseppe Arcuri went 1-3, connecting for a double and an RBI. Freshman third baseman Robert Zega put in two runs with an RBI as DH Shawn O'Hea added an RBI created from his 1-3 feature at bat.
Brookdale baseball will not return to the ball field until Saturday, April 17th, as they travel to visit the Union County College Owls.
