Jersey Blues Baseball Off To Great Start Increasing Record To 6-0

Lincroft, NJ - The Brookdale Jersey Blues baseball crew is off to a fantastic start this 2021 season. For the second straight double-header, they have swept their opponents. On Saturday, the Blues beat the Titans of CC Morris by scores of 4-2, and 7-5.

In the 4-2 game one win, sophomore RHP Riley Maypother (St. Rose High School), pitched 5.2 innings with seven strikeouts for his first win. Following Maypother, freshman RHP Jared Terefenko (Red Bank Catholic) got the save in relief.

In the batters box, sophomore first baseman, Ryan Gilmore (Monsignor Farrell High School) hit 1-2, including a double. Sophomore infielder, Tom Dunleavy (Shore Regional High School), went 2-3 and knocked in two RBI's. Also slapping in two RBI's was freshman catcher/infielder, Darius Troche (Governor Mifflin High School) for the win.

In game two on the mound, sophomore RHP, Jarred Rosso (St. Peter's Prep) earned his first win while pitching three innings and striking out two. Freshman RHP, John Luberto (Nutley High School), made the save in relief.

Pulling in some big runs was freshman outfielder, Christian Bauman (Shore Regional High School), who went 3-4 including a triple and a three-run homer for four RBI's on the day.

The Jersey Blues (6-0) will be hosting the Roadrunners of RCSJ-Gloucester on Wednesday, March 31st @ 3:30pm on Brookdale's Lincroft Campus.
