Largo,MD - For their first time out in the 2020 season, the Jersey Blues baseball team split with the Owls of Prince George's Community College.
Game one was a battle with Brookdale falling, 1-0. Sophomore left-handed pitcher Dylan Taliaferro hurled for seven innings and collected nine strikeouts, one walk, and two hits.
In game two, Brookdale took the 4-3 win, highlighted by sophomore first baseman Ryan Gilmore's solo home run. Sophomore outfielder Dom Meleo went 2-3 for one double and a two-run homer.
Sophomore right-handed pitcher Matt Pickus tossed for six innings and notched seven strikeouts and two hits. Sophomore righty Michael Wynne posted the save from the mound with the tying Owl run on third base.
The team will next take on the Bulldogs of Bergen Community College on the road on Friday, March 6th for a single nine-inning contest beginning at 3:30pm.
