Sewell, NJ - Brookdale's head baseball coach Johnny Johnson captured his 700th career win as the Jersey Blues took down the Spartans of Northampton Community College, 11-0.

Sewell, NJ - Brookdale's head baseball coach Johnny Johnson captured his 700th career win as the Jersey Blues took down the Spartans of Northampton Community College, 11-0 in game two of the first round of the final four tournament. The team fell in game one to the Dukes of Cumberland County College, 6-0.
Johnson, who is in his 21st year in charge of the Jersey Blues program, has been named Region XIX coach of the year six times and Garden State Athletic Conference coach of the year six times in his illustrious career at the helm.
In game two action against the Spartans, sophomore left-handed pitcher Eric Heatter tossed the complete game and earned his ninth win of the season. Heatter also notched 14 strikeouts. Freshman outfielder TJ Scuderi went 3-5 and posted one RBI as freshman second baseman Matt Granato contributed one double and two RBI's. Sophomore catcher Joshua Jackson ripped one triple and knocked in one run while freshman outfielder Dominic Meleo tallied one double and two RBI's.
The team will next take on the Dukes of Cumberland County College on the road on Saturday, May 18th at noon in the elimination game of the tournament.
