Jersey Blues Advance To Final Four Of Region XIX Tournament
Lincroft, NJ- The Jersey Blues baseball team defeated the Cougars of Camden County College in the first round of the Region XIX tournament in the best of three series. In game two, Brookdale took a 3-2 lead and then fell behind until the bottom of the fourth inning.

At the end of nine innings, the score stood at 11-8, in favor of the Blues. Sophomore left-handed pitcher Pat Knight recorded his ninth win of the season. Knight threw for seven innings and tallied six strikeouts and one scored run.
Sophomore relief pitcher Ryan Orender earned the save. Orender threw heat as he struck out two Cougar batters looking in the bottom of the ninth. Sophomore third baseman Mike Russell connected three times at bat and knocked in three RBI's. Sophomore first baseman Jake Buser posted one double and one RBI as freshman designated hitter Trevor Romeo launched one home-run and two doubles. Romeo also contributed two stolen bases and three RBI's. Sophomore second baseman Joey Tesoriero scored two runs and added one double and one stolen base.
With the win, the team advances to the final four of the Region XIX tournament and will take on the Dukes of Cumberland County College at Cumberland on Saturday, May 20th at noon.
