Baseball Swings Past Camden Cougars In Game One Of Tournament Play
Blackwood, NJ- The Brookdale baseball team rallied back from being down 1-0 at the bottom of the third and swung away for the lead.

The Jersey Blues defeated the Cougars of Camden County College, 12-1 in five innings. Freshman right-handed pitcher Anthony Ratti tossed the five-inning gem and struck out six batters.
At the plate, sophomore center-fielder Mike Santaromita went 2-4 for one double, one home-run and two RBI's while sophomore right-fielder Nick Martinez connected twice for one home-run, one RBI and three scored runs. Sophomore third baseman Mike Russell posted three hits and one RBI as sophomore catcher Geraldo Reyes added two hits and one RBI.
The team will look to take another win from Camden on Tuesday, May 16th at home at noon. The winner of the best of three series will advance to the final four of the Region XIX tournament and will play on Saturday, May 20th at Cumberland County College.
