Nick Martinez Launches Two-Run Homer; Brookdale Overpowers Atlantic Cape 11-1 In Eight Innings
Lincroft, NJ- After a muddy start to the day, the Brookdale coaching staff and student-athletes worked on the field in order to get it playable for their single game match-up against Atlantic Cape Community College, where the Jersey Blues overpowered the Buccaneers, 11-1 in eight innings.

Lincroft, NJ- After a muddy start to the day, the Brookdale coaching staff and student-athletes worked on the field in order to get it playable for their single game match-up against Atlantic Cape Community College, where the Jersey Blues overpowered the Buccaneers, 11-1 in eight innings.
Sophomore outfielder Nick Martinez launched a two-run homer in the bottom of the fourth inning to increase the lead, 6-0. Sophomore left-handed pitcher Pat Knight tossed for six innings and recorded his sixth win of the year. Knight allowed three hits and struck out six Buccaneer batters.
Freshman designated hitter Trevor Romeo went 4-4 at the plate, blasting one home-run and two doubles. Romeo also tallied two stolen bases, three RBI's and four scored runs.
With the win, the team cruises to an overall record of 21-3 and will next take on the Owls of Union County College on the road on Friday, April 7th at 3:00pm.
