Baseball Slides Past Bergen Bulldogs In Three Game Series
Lincroft, NJ- The Brookdale baseball team edged the Bergen Bulldogs in all three games, 6-4, 14-2 and 13-1. In game one, sophomore left-handed pitcher Pat Knight hurled from the mound for five innings and recorded three strikeouts and five hits.

Lincroft, NJ- The Brookdale baseball team edged the Bergen Bulldogs in all three games, 6-4, 14-2 and 13-1. In game one, sophomore left-handed pitcher Pat Knight hurled from the mound for five innings and recorded three strikeouts and five hits.
Sophomore outfielder Mike Russell went 3-4 at bat and notched one run as sophomore second baseman Joey Tesoriero recorded one double, one sac-fly and two RBI's. Sophomore left-fielder Nick Martinez tallied two hits for one double.
In game two, sophomore right-handed pitcher Kyle Fenton threw the complete game, improving his record to, 3-0. Fenton contributed five strikeouts and allowed five hits.
Sophomore center-fielder Mike Santaromita drove in three runs and added one hit as freshman shortstop Cole Fluta posted two hits and two RBI's. Russell stayed steady at bat and crushed four more hits and two scored runs. Martinez collected two more hits, two scored runs and one RBI.
In the third and final game of the series played at Bergen Community College, freshman right-handed pitcher Anthony Ratti struck out five batters and gave up two hits while sophomore first baseman Jake Buser smashed a solo home-run and knocked in three RBI's. Russell totaled another three hits for one double, scored two runs and brought in three RBI's. Tesoriero connected two more times at the plate for one double and chipped in two scored runs and two RBI's.
The team improves their overall record to 19-2, 5-0 in conference play. The Jersey Blues return to action as they take on the Titans of County College of Morris at home on Wednesday, March 29th for a single nine-inning game at 3:30pm.
