Mike Santaromita Records Game Winning Hit In 11th Inning; Brookdale Tallies Three Wins On The Day

Kissimmee, FL- The Brookdale baseball team tallied two wins against the Barons of Rowan College at Burlington County, 10-2 and 6-4 and recorded a third win against the Spartans of Minnesota State Community and Technical College, 2-1 in 11 innings.

In game one against the Barons, sophomore outfielder Mike Russell drove in two RBI's as sophomore first baseman Joe Rotelli notched two doubles and two RBI's. Sophomore left-handed pitcher Pat Knight hurled the complete game, collecting his third win of the season. Knight struck out seven batters and allowed only two hits.

Sophomore center-fielder Mike Santaromita posted one triple and two scored runs in game two against RCBC. Freshman third baseman Trevor Romeo crushed a solo home-run and knocked in one RBI while Rotelli collected another two hits for one home-run and one double. Freshman outfielder Anthony Nocero contributed the go-ahead two RBI hit in the seventh inning for the win. Freshman Chris Murphy pitched the seven inning victory and struck out eight Baron batters.

In the third and final game of the day against the Spartans, Santaromita smacked the game winning hit in the 11th inning for the Jersey Blues.

The team continues their win streak and will next take on Oakton Community College for a doubleheader on Friday, March 17th.
