Baseball Sweeps Delaware Technical Community College In Season Opener
Georgetown, DE- The Brookdale baseball team swept the Roadrunners of Delaware Technical Community College, 12-5 and 18-3. Sophomore outfielder Nick Martinez recorded seven hits in the doubleheader for two home-runs, two doubles, seven RBI's and five scored runs.

Georgetown, DE- The Brookdale baseball team swept the Roadrunners of Delaware Technical Community College, 12-5 and 18-3. Sophomore outfielder Nick Martinez recorded seven hits in the doubleheader for two home-runs, two doubles, seven RBI's and five scored runs
In game one, sophomore left-handed pitcher Pat Knight led the Blues to victory from the mound for four innings. Knight collected four strikeouts and gave up two hits and three runs.
Sophomore center-fielder Mike Santaromita smashed two hits for one double, knocked in four RBI's and scored two runs. Sophomore catcher Geraldo Reyes went 2-3 at bat and notched three scored runs.
In game two, the Jersey Blues continued to dominate play over the Roadrunners. Sophomore right-handed pitcher Kyle Fenton threw for the win. Santaromita stayed consistent at the plate and ripped one double, stole one base and added three scored runs.
Sophomore DH Jake Buser totaled four hits for three scored runs, one double, one home-run and four RBI's while sophomore catcher Joel Rivera contributed three hits for one home-run and two RBI's.
Brookdale opens the 2017 season with a 2-0 record and will return to action in Florida for 12 games beginning on Sunday, March 12th.
