Due to a faulty sprinkler system, part of the soccer field had flooded and the officials were not going to allow the game to be played unless the issue was fixed. Without hesitation, the baseball team ran over and took care of the situation. Athletic Director Shawn Noel, Assistant Baseball Coach Ed Galante and student-athletes from the baseball team began to fill the water hole with dirt and quick dry and raked out the muddy mess until the officials felt the field was safe enough to play.
The Jersey Blues baseball team had been at the college earlier that morning getting their own field in shape for their scrimmage tomorrow.
The women's soccer team is extremely thankful for what the baseball team did. All of their hard work in the heat and humidity allowed the game to be played. The baseball team exemplified what it truly means to be a team player and a Jersey Blue!
