Baseball Sweeps Lehigh Carbon In Round One Of Region XIX Tournament
Red Bank, NJ- The Brookdale baseball team swept the Cougars of Lehigh Carbon Community College in the first round of the Region XIX tournament, 18-5 and 11-1.

Red Bank, NJ- The Brookdale baseball team swept the Cougars of Lehigh Carbon Community College in the first round of the Region XIX tournament, 18-5 and 11-1.
In game one, freshman outfielder Nick Martinez recorded one double and two RBI's while freshman second baseman Joey Tesoriero posted one triple and three RBI's.
Freshman designated hitter Jake Buser smashed one home run, one double and knocked in four runs. Freshman left-handed pitcher Patrick Knight earned his sixth win from the mound, striking out a total of seven batters.
In game two, sophomore right-handed pitcher Mike Imperato hurled the complete game, collecting his fifth win for the season. Imperato struck out 10 batters and allowed only four hits.
Sophomore shortstop Alfredo Molina Jr. led the way offensively, ripping two home runs and knocking in five RBI's. Sophomore first baseman Joseph Sadler followed Molina, crushing one double, one home run and driving in two RBI's.
The team improves their overall record to 35-10 and will return to action down at Cumberland County College on Friday, May 13th to face the Dukes in Region XIX tournament action.
