Jersey Blues Split With  Erie Community College; Michael Russell Drills Home Run

Lake Myrtle, FL- The Brookdale baseball team defeated the Kats of Erie Community College, 11-1 in game one. Freshman shortstop Alfredo Molina Jr. went 2-4 from the plate, tallying one double, one triple and an RBI. Freshman outfielder Michael Russell tallied three hits for a double and one home run. Russell also posted three scored runs and five RBI's.

Sophomore first baseman Joseph Sadler collected two hits, driving in two runs and also scored twice for the Blues while freshman first baseman Alberto Fossa registered one hit and three RBI's.

Sophomore right-handed pitcher Danny Serreino threw for the win, striking out 12 batters and allowing only three hits.

In game two, the Blues fell to the Kats, 5-3. Russell's bat stayed hot for two more hits, one stolen base and two RBI's. Molina posted one more double and one stolen base.

The Blues return to action on Monday, March 14th against Northern Essex Community College.
