Baseball Opens 2016 Season With 9-7 Lead Over Globe Institute of Technology
New York, NY- The Brookdale baseball team opened the 2016 season with a 9-7 lead over the Knights of Globe Institute of Technology. Due to darkness, the game had to be suspended in the bottom of the eighth inning. Play will resume on March 26th.

New York, NY- The Brookdale baseball team opened up the 2016 season with a 9-7 lead over the Knights of Globe Institute of Technology. Due to darkness, the game had to be suspended in the bottom of the eighth inning. Play will resume on March 26th.
Freshman outfielder Michael Russell went 2-4 from the plate, smashing a grand slam in the top of the eighth inning to put the Blues ahead by two runs. Russell also recorded a double and four RBI's. Sophomore outfielder Andrew Schulz ripped a home run and collected three RBI's. Sophomore first baseman Joseph Sadler posted one hit and four RBI's while freshman third baseman Ryan Orender added two hits.
Freshman left-handed pitcher Patrick Knight tossed for two innings and struck out five Knight batters.
The Blues return to the diamond on Sunday, March 13th against Erie Community College in Florida.
