Baseball Downs Rowan College, 8-7 In Game One; Brookdale Falls To Cumberland Dukes In Game Two
Lincroft, NJ- The Brookdale baseball team downed the Roadrunners of Rowan College at Gloucester County, 8-7 in game one of the final four teams in the Region XIX tournament. Sophomore pitcher Chris Marte led from the mound, tossing for eight innings, striking out five batters and allowing seven scattered hits.

Sophomore pitcher Chris Marte led from the mound, tossing for eight innings, striking out five batters and allowing seven scattered hits.
Brookdale took an early lead in the first inning after sophomore outfielder Aaron Kane's sac-fly knocked in sophomore outfielder Nico Giaimo.
Sophomore outfielder Tim Carney went 2-5 from the plate, scoring one run and collecting two RBI's. Freshman catcher Nick Blaney recorded three hits for two runs scored and two RBI's.
In game two, the Blues fell to the Dukes of Cumberland County College, 7-1. Sophomore third baseman Luis Hidalgo registered one double for Brookdale.
The team returns to action in the championship series of the Region XIX tournament on Saturday, May 9th against the Roadrunners of Rowan College at Gloucester County.
