Brookdale Splits Doubleheader With Northampton Community College
Bethlehem, PA- The Brookdale baseball team split with the Spartans of Northampton Community College in a region XIX doubleheader. In game one, sophomore pitcher Chris Marte threw the seven inning, 3-2 victory over Northampton. Marte tallied five strikeouts and five hits. Freshman pitcher Tyler Folger smacked the go ahead two RBI single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Blues ahead.

Sophomore catcher Aaron Kane posted one hit, one scored run and one RBI while sophomore second baseman Jon Baturgil scored one run and recorded a double.
In game two, Brookdale fell 3-2 to the Spartans. Sophomore Nick Panduri registered the hard luck loss, striking out five batters and allowing seven scattered hits.
At bat, sophomore shortstop Spencer Young posted two hits and scored one run. Sophomore third baseman Tim Carney drove in one run while Kane added two more hits and one run scored.
The team improves their overall record to 24-16, 9-5 in conference action. Brookdale returns to action on Monday, April 27th at Bergen Community College.
