"When I think about my time at Brookdale, one word quickly comes to mind; family. Brookdale Athletics is one big family. I remember being able to walk into any of of the athletic offices knowing that they were more than willing to help me with anything I needed. As athletes, we all supported one another and rooted for each other's success by attending different games and sporting events. This was because we all had one thing in common-we took pride in wearing Brookdale's name on our uniform.
Brookdale athletics fostered a very inclusive and positive environment that I try to emulate in my 5th grade special education classroom everyday. Students support one another, encourage each other to do their best, and we celebrate everybody's successes! My experience with Brookdale athletics started me off on the right foot toward a promising career."
As a freshman, Boehler earned first-team All-American honors at shortstop, and for two seasons earned the distinction of Region XIX's top infielder. In 2013, she was named to the NJCAA All-Tournament team when the squad was the NJCAA National runner-up. The team broke the program's all-time record for wins (59) and was a major contributor to the squad's third-place finish at the National tournament this year. Additionally, Boehler served as co-chair to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and organized community service projects such as the "Walk for the Cure" for breast cancer and a campus clean-up. She was also a member of Phi Theta Kappa and the Education Club.
Boehler was a two-time academic All-Region player, and graduated with a 3.94 GPA. She was flown to Orlando, Florida to accept the annual National Association of Two Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA) award as the Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2013. In her two years on the field, Boehler played in 102 games, and combined for a .422 batting average, four homeruns, 84 RBI's, 91 runs, and six stolen bases. Following her year at Brookdale, Boehler pursued a Bachelor's degree in education at Georgian Court University while on a softball scholarship.
