Lincroft, NJ - Ryan Horsch has been named the new head coach to lead the Brookdale men's lacrosse program as announced today by director of athletics Shawn Noel. Horsch, a Brookdale lacrosse alumnus, played in 2012 and 2013 for the Jersey Blues.
Horsch was one of the best defenders to ever play at Brookdale. He is a two time Region XIX Champion (2012, 2013), two time All Region Selection (2012, 2013), Team Captain (2013), Team MVP (2013) and Region XIX MVP (2013). Horsch then went on to play at Division I Monmouth University. "Ryan was an impact player while he was here at Brookdale and had just as much success when he played at Monmouth...it always feels good when you can hire someone who is a product of your program, they get what the expectations are to be a Jersey Blue" commented Noel.
Horsch, a member of Monmouth's first-ever men's lacrosse team when it was established in 2013, was named a team captain in his first year with the program as a junior and served as a team captain as a senior as well. A 2015 Second Team All-MAAC defender, Horsch is one of just three Hawks to start all 27 games in the program's history to-date. Horsch, who scored two goals and added an assist in his career, was the team leader in ground balls and caused turnovers in both 2014 and 2015, and helped lead the Hawks to the MAAC Championship semifinals as a senior.
Horsch served as one of the men's lacrosse assistant coaches at Monmouth University for the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
