#1 Brookdale Beats Minnesota West Community Technical College In 1st Round Of National Championship
Loch Sheldrake, NY - Brookdale men's basketball continued their undefeated season with a 94-72 win over the Minnesota West Community and Technical College Thursday night in the first round of the NJCAA Division III National Championships. The Jersey Blues(32-0), got off to a slow start and trailing 7-0, then allowed the Blue Jays to get within eight points again later, to finish the half 42-29.

Brookdale pulled away late in the 2nd half which had much to do with them attacking the boards and out-rebounding the Blue Jays 49-29, 16 of those being offensive boards. Sophomore power forward Matthew Ringel dominated under the basket with 18 rebounds and one of four players in double figures with 12 points. The other big contributors in the win were Sophomore's, Zachary Olukanni who lead with 25 points, guard/forward Grant Goode had 17, and guard Jaimik Moore with 14.
The Jersey blues will play the 2nd round of the NJCAA tournament against Ohio's #5 Columbus State Community College at SUNY Sullivan Community College @ 7pm.
