Lincroft, NJ - The Mercer County Community College Vikings may have won the game, but they certainly didn't get the best of the Jersey Blues women's soccer team. The DII squad squeezed by Brookdale, 2-1, in a game that could've gone either way.
"It was an evenly matched game," said head coach, Nil Onder. Brookdale managed to score their first and only goal with just 6:43 left on the clock. Freshman midfielder, Hailey Funkhouser (Wall High School), slid a beautiful through-ball to sophomore midfielder, Grace Broderick (Middletown South High School), to net her third goal of the season.
Brookdale (1-1) will travel to Cranford, NJ, to play the Union College Owls on Thursday, September 21st, at 4:00pm.
