Maclane Smoke Clinches Second National Title; Conor Ritchey Wins Back Draw Consolation At National Tournament
Plano, TX- Brookdale Community College sophomore Maclane Smoke has done it again. In three straight sets, Smoke clinched the national title at first singles, downing his opponent, 6-7, 6-3, 6-2. This is the second year in a row Smoke has taken first singles at the national level.

Plano, TX- Brookdale Community College sophomore Maclane Smoke has done it again. In three straight sets, Smoke clinched the national title at first singles, downing his opponent, 6-7, 6-3, 6-2. This is the second year in a row Smoke has taken first singles at the national level.
Freshman second singles Conor Ritchey suffered a tough defeat in his first match to Suffolk, 7-5, 6-3. In the back draw match, Ritchey downed CCRI, 9-7, for the win. Conor went on to the finals, taking down Onondaga, 8-3, in the back draw consolation.
In doubles play, Smoke and Ritchey were defeated by Nassau, the number one seed, 5-7, 6-3, 6-3. Coach Karpinski said, "It was a great match to watch."
