Brookdale Women's Volleyball Outlasts The Ocean Vikings In Decisive Fifth Set Win

Toms River, NJ - Brookdale women's volleyball defeated the Ocean County College Vikings 3-2, winning a strong decisive fifth set 15-12 after dropping the third and fourth sets. The five set scores were, 25-17, 27-25, 22-25, 22-25, 15-12.

Freshman outside hitter, Gemma Ferris, played a critical role in the win with 23 kills while fellow sophomore outside hitter, Alana Pytel, totaled a key 12 kills and four aces. Sophomore middle hitter, Maria Luz, finished with 10 kills and three aces as freshman setter, Bella McKelvey, helped to add six kills, and five aces. Sophomore middle blocker, Amanda Demeo, contributed six kills and three aces as well.

Brookdale, currently 8-1, is preparing for their next challenges on the road in a tri-match against the Delaware Technical Community College Spirit and the Lackawanna College Falcons at the Delaware Tech campus on Saturday, October 4th, beginning at 12:00pm.
