Bio

Coach Katie Amundson was hired as head coach of the women's soccer team in June 2011. Amundson served as an assistant for two years (2009, 2010) before taking over the program.

Amundson, a  Brookdale graduate and two-sport student-athlete herself, was quite an accomplished student-athlete during her undergraduate career at Brookdale.  As a defender, she was named to the first All-Region and All-Garden State Athletic Conference teams and currently holds the record for the most headers scored in a season.  In addition to captaining the 2006 Region XIX championship  women’s soccer team, Amundson was also a starter on the 2006-07 Region XIX championship women’s basketball team.  Amundson was also named an Academic All-American and won the 2006 NAGWS award.

Amundson graduated from Brookdale Community College in 2007 with an Associates of Arts degree. In 2009, she graduated from Ramapo College with a Bachelor's degree in History and was captain of the women's soccer team her senior year. Amundson also completed her Master's Degree from Rutgers University in 2016.

In 2013, Amundson coached the Jersey Blues women's soccer team to the programs first ever national championship. In 2014, the program repeated, winning its second national title. In 2015, the program three-peated, winning its third consecutive national title and making history as the first NJCAA women's soccer division III team to ever accomplish such a task. Coach Amundson was named Regional Coach of the Year for the 2013, 2014, and 2015 seasons.

In 2015, Amundson was selected as the recipient of the NISOA-NSCAA Intercollegiate Merit Award for NJCAA coaches and was also named NSCAA National Coach of the Year.

On October 21, 2017, Amundson notched her 100th career win against Ocean County College in the first round of the Region XIX tournament.

Coach Amundson currently resides in Holmdel, NJ.
