Women's Soccer Dayna Van Pelt Earns The John Stauff Scholar-Athlete Award
Lincroft, NJ - A 2019-2020 Jersey Blue women's soccer player, Dayna Van Pelt, has made a name for herself not only on the field, but in the classroom as well. The NJCAA Region XIX announced that Van Pelt has earned the, John Stauff Scholar-Athlete Award, which is given annually to a female student-athlete in Region XIX.

The NJCAA Region XIX announced that Van Pelt has earned the, John Stauff Scholar-Athlete Award, which is given annually to a female student-athlete in Region XIX.
In her sole year as a sophomore defender in 2019, Van Pelt instantly made a name for herself on the field and earned second team All-Region, All-Garden State Athletic Conference honors, and earned Defensive MVP of the Region XIX Tournament North Atlantic A Championship. She totalled three goals on the season, with one being the game winner.
The following is the Region XIX JOHN STAUFF SCHOLAR-ATHLETE AWARD criteria:
Criteria/Qualifications:
*must participate in a NJCAA sanctioned sport in Region XIX
*must have achieved a minimum of a 3.5GPA and 36 credits (transcript required)
*minimum of All-Conference, All-Region and/or All-American recognition
*community service - e.g. club memberships, office held, assisting athletic or other college departments, etc.
