Jersey Blues Power Past Ocean Vikings 3-2 In Region XIX Semifinals
Toms River, NJ- The Jersey Blues women's soccer team powered past the Vikings of Ocean County College, 3-2 in the semifinals of the Region XIX tournament. Freshman midfielder Madison Doria headed the first goal in for Brookdale in the first five minutes of play off a free kick from freshman midfielder Jessica Textor.

Toms River, NJ- The Jersey Blues women's soccer team powered past the Vikings of Ocean County College, 3-2 in the semifinals of the Region XIX tournament. Freshman midfielder Madison Doria headed the first goal in for Brookdale in the first five minutes of play off a free kick from freshman midfielder Jessica Textor.
The score was tied at the half. Brookdale took the lead in the 53rd minute. Freshman midfielder Christine Albano headed the ball in the back of the net from a free kick by Doria that was flicked by freshman midfielder Alexandra Sweeney.
Ocean was able to tie the game up 2-2 but the Blues persevered and Doria tallied the winning goal. Brookdale played as a team and never gave up. The defense stayed tough in the back, headed by freshman Devon Moreno. Freshman goalkeeper Sheridan Casserly grabbed seven saves in net.
With the win, the team improves their overall record to 8-6-2 and will return to action in the Region XIX finals at County College of Morris to face the Roadrunners of Rowan College at Gloucester County on Sunday, October 29th at 2:00pm.
