Brookdale Alum Matt Ringel Earns Georgian Court University Academic Honor
Lincroft, NJ - Matt Ringel, a Brookdale graduate and the 2018 men's basketball NJCAA Tournament "Most Valuable Player" award winner, continued his success as a Lion at Georgian Court University. The Marlboro native was one of 20 student-athletes selected into the prestigious class of 2020 New Jersey Iota Chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma.
Lincroft, NJ - Matt Ringel, a Brookdale graduate and the 2018 men's basketball NJCAA Tournament "Most Valuable Player" award winner, continued his success as a Lion at Georgian Court University. The Marlboro, NJ native was one of 20 student-athletes selected into the prestigious class of 2020 New Jersey Iota Chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma.
While a Jersey Blue from 2016-2018, Matt not only excelled in the classroom, he played in all 68 games and recorded a total of 533 points, 450 rebounds, 169 blocks, 78 assists, and 50 steals as a forward. Ringel was also the recipient of the "Coaches Award" in 2017 and 2018 at the annual Jersey Blues Award Banquet.
"Chi Alpha Sigma was established to recognize college student athletes who earn a varsity letter in at least one sport while maintaining a 3.4 or higher cumulative GPA throughout their junior and senior years. The governing board represents all levels of competition in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)."
